The 2027 Wuxi Marathon (hereinafter referred to as "Wuxi Marathon") is scheduled to start at 7:30 a.m. on March 28, 2027 (Sunday) in Wuxi with a gunshot. The race consists of two events: the full marathon (42.195 kilometers) and the half marathon (21.0975 kilometers). The total number of participants is approximately 27,000. The starting point is located at the intersection of Taihu Avenue and Yinxiu Road. The finish line for the half marathon is at the Sports Center of Jiangnan University, and the finish line for the full marathon is at the Wuxi Taihu International Exhibition Center.
The Wuxi Marathon was founded in 2014 and has undergone more than a decade of development. It has become one of the most influential marathon events in China. In 2027, the event will continue to uphold the pursuit of "exceeding yesterday's self", with a professional attitude and ultimate service, to create a running feast with both competitive standards and Jiangnan charm for global runners.
Highlight 1: World Athletics Federation Certified Event
Since 2017, when Wuxi Marathon became a member of the International Association of Athletics Federations (AIMS), its race results have been recognized by the most authoritative organization in the world. As one of the AIMS-certified marathon events in China, Wuxi Marathon collaborates with 300+ member units from 95 countries and regions to serve marathon enthusiasts worldwide. It is an important symbol for Wuxi to communicate with the world. The 2027 event will continue to maintain the high international certification standards.
Highlight 2: Cherry Blossom Route and Flat Racing
The Wuxi Marathon track is renowned for its Liuhu Cherry Blossom Route. Runners in the first half of the race run through the spring scenery of Jiangnan, passing by the lake and mountain scenery of Yuantouzhu and the ten-mile flower path with cherry blossoms. The track is narrow at the beginning and wide at the end, and after 22 kilometers, it enters the wide and flat section of Taihu New Town, which is very conducive to the runners' speed increase. The cumulative ascent of the track is only 25 meters, and the flat lake-side terrain and cool spring weather combine to create ideal competition conditions. The 2027 Wuxi Marathon will have a total of approximately 27,000 participants. The event continues to follow a strict performance direct access mechanism - based on the 2026 standards, male marathoners' performance must be within 2 hours and 30 minutes, and female runners must be within 2 hours and 50 minutes to be eligible for direct access. This high-standard direct access threshold ensures the elite level of the event. In 2026, the number of registrations for the Wuxi Marathon reached 495,635, with 24,3803 registrations for the marathon event, and the signing rate for the full marathon was only 11%. The intense demand for a seat is a demonstration of the strong appeal of Wuxi Marathon as a top event in China.
Highlight 4: PB Culture and Exclusive Benefits
"Exceeding yesterday's self" is the consistent pursuit of Wuxi Marathon. Since 2016, Wuxi Marathon has prepared special gifts - PB shirts - for runners who have refreshed their personal best (PB) - to pay tribute to the brave challengers. In 2018, the event also prepared a "Breaking 3 Award Cup" for runners who ran under 3 hours. The event adheres to the standard of synchronizing domestic athlete bonuses and event bonuses, with the bonus for the male and female champions of the marathon reaching 100,000 yuan (before tax).
