On May 23, 2027, Cape Town will host the first official race of the Abbott World Marathon Majors, becoming the eighth stop on the global circuit and the only major marathon event in Africa. Finishers will receive the official Abbott World Marathon Majors Eight-Star Medal. Earning this medal is a landmark achievement for global runners, as it signifies the completion of all eight stars and the attainment of the new Abbott World Marathon Majors honors. Kipchoge and other top athletes will also participate in the competition to compete for the ranking points. 
2. One of the world’s most visually stunning mountain-and-ocean courses
The race course is set against the backdrop of Table Mountain (one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature), connecting landmarks such as the Atlantic coastline, the Green Point stadium (a FIFA World Cup venue), the site of Mandela's speech, and the coastal lighthouse. With mountain views on one side and sea views on the other, each step reveals a new scene. The race is held in late autumn in South Africa, with cool and mild temperatures. The overall terrain is gentle and the road is smooth. Compared with the hilly courses of some World Marathon Majors, this race is more conducive to runners striving for their personal best.

Emergency response runners are assigned to follow the runners in segments, and cooling sprays and ice therapy areas are provided. Throughout the race, police forces conduct patrols and the traffic is fully controlled. Specialized emergency plans tailored to the local conditions of South Africa are formulated to address issues such as high temperatures, muscle cramps, and heatstroke, providing comprehensive protection for the safety of the athletes.

When registering, a full payment is required. Once the registration information is submitted, it cannot be changed, and the paid fees will not be refunded. Please carefully confirm the purchased race entry or package. After the order is submitted, your registration information will be immediately submitted to the organizing committee for entry into the system, and the order will then incur fees. Regardless of the reason, if you attempt to cancel the registration, change the participants, or make significant modifications to the registration information or package content, we will do our best to provide assistance, but we cannot guarantee that it will be successful.
2. Information entry and announcement of competition numbers
After successful registration, your information will be uniformly submitted to the organizing committee for entry. The bib numbers will be announced in the way designated by the organizing committee.
3. Instructions for picking up items
When picking up the race kit, please make sure to bring the original passport and the registration confirmation email. (Special reminder: The confirmation letter for overseas marathons is generally sent to you via email 1-2 weeks before the event. Please ensure that the reserved email address is accurate and valid.) (Note: You cannot pick up the competition package on the day of the event)

4. If the event is affected by force majeure factors, resulting in social unrest, terrorist activities, major infectious diseases, natural disasters, wars, etc. in the cities or scenic spots involved in the event that may endanger personal safety, or if the event organizer cancels or reduces the event for any reason, the registration fee will not be refunded.
5. There are certain thresholds for overseas event visas. If you have never been to European or American countries and your passport does not have a visa history of developed countries, please carefully assess the possibility of obtaining a visa. If you are unable to participate in the event due to visa failure or other personal reasons, the registration fee will not be refunded.
6. Travel booking suggestions: After receiving the confirmation letter of successful registration and obtaining the visa, you can book round-trip flights and hotel accommodation and other items according to your own travel schedule to avoid unnecessary economic losses due to uncertain factors.
7. Competition reminder: This event is held overseas. You need to go to the destination yourself. If you lack experience in going abroad and have language communication barriers, it is recommended that you go with a partner who is familiar with overseas affairs and has relevant experience to obtain necessary help and support.
