The 2026 Nanning Marathon has a total capacity of 36,000 runners. The course follows the Yongjiang River, flat and wide, making it a fast track ideal for personal bests. The event is renowned for its “fruit freedom” aid stations, offering unlimited tropical fruits such as durian and tangerines. As a World Athletics Elite Label event, the race features Zhuang folk songs and bronze drum performances along the route. The finisher medals incorporate Zhuang brocade and embroidered ball elements, offering international runners a unique fusion of sport, gastronomy, and ethnic culture.
I. Race Highlights
1. Dual Certification – International Standards
The Nanning Marathon has successively retained its World Athletics Elite Label status and has obtained Class A certification from the Chinese Athletics Association. As a Class A1 event, the core competition organisation – including course measurement, timing, and judging – fully meets the standards required for World Athletics and national record recognition. This dual recognition demonstrates the international influence and professional strength of the Nanning Marathon.
2. Scenic Course – Through the “Green City”
The race starts at Minzu Square, with the marathon and half marathon finish lines at the Guangxi Sports Centre. The route passes through Minzu Avenue, Nanhu Park, Nanning International Convention & Exhibition Centre, Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area, Guangxi Museum of Ethnic Minorities, Nanning Confucius Temple, and the scenic Yongjiang River, crossing three bridges: Liangqing Bridge, Qingshan Bridge, and Wuxiang Bridge. This course is known as the most beautiful marathon course, showcasing the integration of modern urban development and ecological environment, and fully displaying Nanning’s landscape as an eco garden city – “flowers everywhere, half the city shaded by trees and half by buildings, with the Yongjiang River flowing through.”
3. Record Scale – 36,000 Runners
The total race capacity reaches 36,000, the highest in its history. For the first time, a wave start system will be implemented, with seven starting zones arranged according to participants’ qualifying times. This effectively reduces congestion and helps runners maintain steady pacing and achieve personal bests.
4. Stadium Finish – A Glorious Moment
For the first time, the finish line for both the marathon and half marathon is set inside the main stadium of the Guangxi Sports Centre. Runners will pass through the “Glory Passage” inside the stadium, cross the finish line amid cheers from the audience, and have medals presented by staff in traditional ethnic costumes – a true “crowning moment.” This setup not only provides more space for finishers but also greatly enhances the ceremonial atmosphere and overall experience.

III. Itinerary
2026 Nanning Marathon 3 Days 2 Nights Hotel Package
2026-12-18 Friday | After arriving in Nanning, please go to Guangxi Jinhua Hotel by yourself to check in. The check-in time should be after 14:00 on the same day. If you arrive earlier, you can temporarily store your luggage at the hotel's concierge department. After settling in, you can go to the Marathon Expo to collect your bib number and other event participation supplies. Then, you can freely move around the hotel area, adapt to the environment, taste local delicacies like Nanning's Laoyou noodles(rice noodles in sour-spicy soup), and replenish your energy for the subsequent events. (Breakfast not included) |
2026-12-19 Saturday | At 07:00 in the morning, after having breakfast at the hotel, you will be led by the staff to take a bus to South Lake Park for a 5-kilometer morning run. The circular path around the lake in South Lake Park is flat and surrounded by lush greenery. Runners can run leisurely here, activate their muscles, and enjoy the fresh air of the "Green City". After the morning run, return to the hotel to wash up and rest. At 14:00, gather at the hotel lobby and then take a bus to visit Qingxiu Mountain Scenic Area (a 5A national scenic spot). The itinerary will include a visit to Guanyin Zen Temple, where you can burn incense and pray. Guanyin Zen Temple was founded in the Northern Song Dynasty and is one of the most renowned Buddhist holy sites in Guangxi. Afterwards, you can climb to the Longxiang Pagoda to overlook the Yongjiang River and the entire view of Nanning. At 17:00, depart from Qingxiu Mountain and take a bus to Wan Guo Restaurant for dinner. At 7:00 p.m., after dinner, walk to Minsheng Tourist Terminal to take a boat to experience the Yongjiang River night tour (the restaurant is approximately 1 kilometer away from the terminal, and the walking time is about 20 minutes). Take the Yongjiang River night tour boat (the journey lasts about 60 minutes), enjoy the night views of the Changle Pavilion, Yongjiang Bridge 2, the ancient city wall, and the bronze sculptures of the Zhuang ethnic mythology. Walk back to the hotel after the night tour.(Breakfast included) |
2026-12-19 Sunday Race Day | 05:30 After having breakfast at the hotel, head on your own to the starting point of the race - the Minzu Square (it takes about 10 minutes to reach on foot). After the race, return to the hotel by yourself. The check-out time at the hotel is before 14:00. Please return the room card to the front desk by yourself. Then, based on your flight schedule, you can go to the airport by yourself and conclude your trip to the Nanning Marathon. (Breakfast included)

IV. Registration Notes
1. Cancellation and Modification Policy
When registering, a full payment is required. Once the registration information is submitted, it cannot be changed, and the paid fees will not be refunded. Please carefully confirm the purchased race entry or package. After the order is submitted, your registration information will be immediately submitted to the organizing committee for entry into the system, and fees will be charged accordingly. Regardless of the reason, if you attempt to cancel the registration, change the participants, or make significant modifications to the registration information or package content, we will do our best to provide assistance, but we cannot guarantee that it will be successful.
2. Entry Confirmation and Bib Number
After successful registration, your information will be uniformly submitted to the organizing committee for entry. The bib numbers will be announced in the way designated by the organizing committee.
3. Instructions for picking up items
Please bring your original passport when collecting your race kit. (Note: You cannot pick up the competition package on the day of the event).

4. If the event is affected by force majeure factors, resulting in social unrest, terrorist activities, major infectious diseases, natural disasters, wars, etc. in the cities or scenic spots involved in the event that may endanger personal safety, or if the event organizer cancels or reduces the event for any reason, the registration fee will not be refunded.
